My Day in London

Welcome back everyone and hello if this is your first time visiting. Thank you so much for coming back if you have visited before, I really do appreciate it! What has everyone been up to recently? I can not believe it is nearly July, where is this year going?!?!

So as usual this is of course a Wayback Wednesday post about Bank Holiday Monday in May last year. I decided to go and see the Paul O'Grady Show at the ITV Studios in Waterloo London. It's been five years since I've spent the day in London so this was quite a big thing for me. I was actually okay though, I had my moments but I was actually so proud of myself for actually going. That probably sounds stupid to you but if you suffer from panic attacks you will know what I mean.

My Mum and me got up early on Monday and parked at the station before getting the 9:00 train to Stratford. I couldn't get over how far the main trainline to the Jubilee line was, okay it probably wasn't that far away but when your in a rush it feels a million miles away. The Jubilee train was so small that I felt really claustrophobic but I soon calmed down. Luckily, it was only about a twenty minute journey before we were at Waterloo. It had been years since I had been in London let alone Waterloo and I didn't have a clue how to get to the studios, luckily some people helped us.

When we got there the queue was already pretty big and that was without the priority queue. it was even worse then normal because Olly Murs was the special guest, so I was pretty desperate to get in. I was getting more and more anxious I wouldn't get in! While my Mum stood and queued for a little while I went to look for somewhere to find food, I was starving I hadn't eaten all day. Not very far away was a little gap that led you to the river front with all these little cafes it look so lovely and the people were really friendly. Luckily, we were taken backstage through the ITV studios because my Mum can't stand for to long to be taken into a waiting room inside where we were guaranteed entry! I could have burst into tears with happiness and how helpful the organisers were. I just couldn't believe my luck that I was going to see Olly again! After about half an hour we were taken into the studio and I couldn't get over how small the set was in real life! To top it off we were given front row seats!

The show started promptly at 12:30 and was a bit boring to be honest until Olly made his appearance. The interview was really good and I think the majority of the audience was just there to see Olly. The show lasted just over an hour before we were escorted out of the building. As we were leaving a crowd of people had gathered nearby around a car. It was Olly! I went over thinking I didn't stand a chance of meeting him again and the car kept edging to go. After a little bit of nudging here and there which I hate doing but it literally is the only way you stand a chance of meeting him as everyone is out for themselves. After a few moments I actually got to the front and met Olly again and had another picture with him! He took my phone and we took a few selfies. I could not believe I got to meet Olly again and so soon after the first time. After getting over the excitement we made our way back to the train station and it gave us the false illusion that everything had quietened down! But omg when our train arrived it was crazy busy and I mean crazy! I panicked at first and refused to get on but you know what I did and it wasn't that bad.

Altogether I had such a lovely day and would completely do it again in a heartbeat. I had so much fun and it was such a confidence boost that I can actually go out and do things like this again! Bring on next time! I really hope you liked reading this.

My Top Five High Street Nail Polishes

Hope your all okay!So considering the suns shining I thought I would tell you about my top high street nail polish brands. So here does....

5) Fashionista- The Saturdays £4.19

I absolutely love these polishes, they come in five metallic shades ( Red, Silver, Blue, Violet and Green) They are long lasting and really shiny and pigmented. To use the polish to its full potential you use a magnet to create effects like stripes etc.

4) Fearne Cotton Polishes- Boots Exclusive

This is one of the best ever nail polishes I have ever used, they don't chip or smudge. Unfortunately they are only available at boots in boxsets around Christmas time.

3) George ASDA- £1.79

I was a bit put off by trying these polishes, i'll be honest I thought they would just chip off and smudge but I was totally wrong! I rate these polishes above the majority of Rimmels even! It's so cheap yet it lasts ages, doesn't chip and goes on really smooth. Look out for special offers as once every few months they are reduced to £1 each.

2) Rimmel- Rita Ora Collection £2.99

I'll be honest till this range come out I was not Rimmels biggest nail polish fan. I didn't find them very long lasting or pigmented. When I saw Rita Ora's new range I wanted to try it and I was not disappointed. The colours are very summary and bright, long lasting and very pigmented.

1) Barry M- Gelly Nail Paint £3.99

This is officially my number one favourite high street nail polish collection. The polish is thick and out of all the polishes I have used they are the most pigmented. They are very long lasting and can last for ages without chipping. They also sell a wide rang of colours from Bright Pinks to Mustard Yellow.

I hope you like this post! Let me know what your favourite brand of nail polish is, as I love trying out new things. Anyway until next time.....

Ain't no party like a S Club Party

Never a more accurate statement! Welcome back to my blog! Wayback Wednesday this week is about S Club 7's reunion tour last year. On the 16th May I got to revisit my childhood for one night only at the O2 arena to see the amazing S Club 7. I have waited years to see S Club again and it was well worth the wait. The arena was packed full of people wanting good time, it was like being transported back to 2000. I never expected to see the arena so alive it was like they had never gone away.

At around 9:00pm one by one each member appeared from beneath the stage before they started with the smashing 'Bring The House Down'. The crowd omg were going crazy and so loud it was unbelievable. I don't think one person in the whole arena had forgotten any of the words. I literally spent the whole night singing and screaming at the top of my lungs.

Their costumes were amazing and very late 90's, early 00's. My favourite outfit was the colourful costumes they wore in Act 3 they were so bright and fun! They sang all their massive hits like 'S Club Party', 'Two in a Million', 'Reach' and 'Have you ever'. Along with each member singing a solo number. Paul recreated 'Reach' and sang it acoustically  while sitting on the stage, his vocals were on top form and it was amazing. When I heard about this I thought it was going to be dreadful but it was amazing literally everyone in the arena had their torches on and were screaming all the words at the top of their lungs, the atmosphere was electric.

The encore was made up of two of their biggest songs. The first being 'Never Had A Dream Come True' which was their massive children in need no1 single. I loved the videos flashing by as they sang it added so much meaning to the song and it is my personal favourite song. They came out dressed all in white like back in the day before ending with 'Don't Stop Movin'.

It was one amazing performance and I loved every second of it. It was one big party from start to finish. Every single person was literally having the best time ever. Did anyone else see the show? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

Cloud Nine's

Since I started my blog last month I have really wanted to do a post on my Cloud Nine's I wanted to be able to properly test them out first before reviewing them. I don't want a blog where I don't give a 100% accurate and honest opinion.

I don't know how much you all know about Cloud Nine's but a few month's ago I found out from friends that they are literally the new GHD's. Basically they are created by the original GHD creators. When I found this out I was in a dilemma whether to try Cloud Nine's or stick with GHD's? Thankfully, I chose the Cloud Nine's, put it this way my GHD's are long gone and I won't be converting back anytime soon.

The Clouds I went for are the 'Touch' ones which I absolutely love. Basically, all you have to do is plug the straighteners in, press the straighteners down once for high temperatures and press the straighteners down twice for cooler temperatures. If you want to reheat the straighteners once you are on the cooler setting all you have to do is press the straightness down once again and they will instantly be hotter.

One of the best features is it literally takes less then five seconds to heat the straighteners up to full heat so there is literally no waiting around ages for them to heat up. Another great bonus if your really forgetful like me, is that after 30 seconds of them not being in use they automatically turn off.

The best feature though is how well and quickly it straightens your hair. I have honestly the thickest hair ever and these straighteners go through all my hair leaving it unbelievably straight. They also have a shine technology in the blades to leave your hair shiny and smooth.

If your looking for some new high end straighteners I highly recommend these over anything else! What so you think GHD's or Cloud Nine's? Let me know in the comments below!

Meeting Olly Murs

Welcome back to Wayback Wednesday once again! Hope your all well I can not believe it is only two days until my Birthday! It is going to feel so weird this year because I actually have to work!! Usually I book a week off but because of reasons I couldn't this year hashtag dedication lol! As you may of guessed by the title this post is all about when I met the amazing Olly Murs. On Tuesday 5th May last year I got the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Olly Murs! Now I would like to say that I was calm and collected when I received the news but that would be one big fat lie! I quite literally ran into Costa and screamed the whole place down while shaking and crying that my dream was becoming a reality....well one of them! This was all thanks to an amazing competition ran by a publishing company 'Hodder and Stoughton' who published his book back in September. I am usually really unlucky and have never won a competition and as cliche as it sounds I honestly didn't believe that 'normal' people win these competitions. So seriously that next competition you see enter it, you never know it might be your lucky day!

After fighting our way through the London rush hour, trust me literally! We got to the O2 for half Five where we met up with other winners and waited for Jordan (Olly's tour assistant) to take us to the green room. We got to walk all the way round the backstage of the O2 which was pretty cool and as sad as it is I have really wanted to do that for years. It was so surreal and strange walking through the arena when it was totally empty and dead quiet. The green room is so lovely it has sofas and picture frames of previous artists who have held meet and greets and just has a really lovely vibe to it. By this point though I was feeling physically sick with nerves and excitement.

We waited in the room for about 15 minutes before Olly walked in. I was literally shaking by this point and had lost the power to speak! Nice one Sophie! Finally I got to meet Olly and hand on my heart he was the most loveliest down to earth celebrity I have ever met. Literally he was so genuine it was like talking to an old friend, although it was a bit surreal talking about local nightclubs and Southend! Yes you guessed it of course I had a ditzy moment (face palm) I went to give Olly his birthday present and it literally fell out of the bag and across the floor! How embarrassing, I wanted the ground to swallow me whole! Olly was lovely enough to sign my book for me which I was ecstatic about I've wanted it signed for years! My Mum was equally over the moon and was buzzing for ages afterwards (I think she still is) we got so many hugs and kisses, he was so lovely.

I literally can not wait till Olly is back on tour and for his new album hopefully later this year! Has anyone else met Olly before? What was your experience like? I would love to know! So please let me know in the comments below! I hope your all well and enjoyed reading this!

Clinique Chubby Sticks

I have wanted to use the Chubby Sticks since they first came out a few years ago. I've tried many replicas over the years but non compare. So in my honest opinion I would wait until you can afford to buy a actual Chubby Stick. I decided to buy a gift set at Christmas with four different chubby sticks to try out.

The colours I bought were 'Grandest Grape', 'Plushest Punch', 'Woopin Watermelon' and 'Pudgy Peony'. I have to say my favourite shade is Grandest Grape, it's a gorgeous dark purple colour, a very on trend colour at the moment. The Chubby Sticks moisturise your lips such lot and leave them feeling smooth and soft. I was really shocked at how pigmented they were especially the baby pink colours. The sticks last a lot longer then most lipsticks even after eating and drinking. If you haven't had the chance to try one I really recommend you do! If you have anymore questions about the product then let me know in the comments! I hope you are enjoying my posts.

Gunwharf Quays

Hello everyone! Hope your all okay and enjoying the sunshine! As usual I have been super busy at work and haven't had to much time to blog so this one is going up later then I wanted, but I won't complain as apart from a Monday morning (massive groan) I absolutely love work! So on Sunday 5th June my family and I went to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. I was so excited I have never been to a designer discount village before! It definitely didn't disappoint!

Being a Sunday and the fact it was really lovely weather was crazy busy and it was a bit of a nightmare to park but we were lucky and managed to get a space right by the entrance. As I went up the escalators the first store right in front of me was Michael Kors so I was pretty excited. I've wanted a Michael Kors bag for ages now but I've been brave enough to pay so much! As soon as I walked in there I noticed my ideal bag it was beautiful and matched my MK purse. To make things even better it was £310 down to £170!! So it was a must I also bought a matching makeup bag which was £80 down to £40.

The next shop I went in was the Ralph Laurent Discount store I didn't really think I would see anything I liked. There was so many nice items in there it was hard to choose what to get but I settled on a Navy cricket Jumper which I absolutely loved down from £100 to £34. It was so pleasant walking around the shops it was a lovely atmosphere and it wasn't too big. I was really excited to go into the UGG store as I have been needing a new pair of Uggs for ages and luckily I manged to get a pair for £70!! What a bargain!!! They are so nice there black with Swarovski gems around the back and a massive gem on the side.

Opposite the UGG store was the cosmetic company and as you probably will know by now I am obsessed with make up. I was so disappointed they had hardly anything in there the MAC counter was full of such old makeup I had never seen the half of it! So I wouldn't advise going there if it is specifically for makeup! Lastly I visited the Lulu Guinness store and bought a gorgeous little clutch bag with sparkly sequinned lips on the front for such a good price!

I literally had the best day ever and saved so much money it was crazy! So if you haven't been to a designer village before I totally recommend you do! Not only is it a great day out but you can save so much money! I really hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Dear Darlin'..

Hey everybody! It's me again! So once more I have a Wayback Wednesday post for you, as promised it is all about seeing Olly Murs on his 'Never Been Better' tour. If you want to read about what else I got up to Newcastle click here.

I have wanted to see Olly in concert for a number of years but there has always been a reason why I couldn't go so I was thrilled to finally be seeing him live. I went to his London and Newcastle dates, four altogether! I literally loved every second and would go again in a heartbeat. I just think he is so down to earth and a genuinely lovely guy and clearly a born entertainer. I've seen many acts over the years on tour and none of them are quite like Olly he is in a class of his own nor have I ever seen anybody love the attention as he does lol!

As I have previously mentioned I travelled all the way to Newcastle from Essex just to see Olly's show, that's how desperate I was to see him live. I literally can not stand at concerts, I feel far to claustrophobic, plus my panic attacks literally won't let me, but I love to be right at the front and all the London dates were standing, see my dilemma? So Newcastle seated was my solution.

So Saturday 18th had finally arrived and we were all ready to go and see mr Murs. We had dinner at the hotel first which was pretty nice, although I think they knew people would be eating there before the show and stuck there prices up! I had this really strange pizza like all the toppings were actually underneath the cheese, a tad annoying when you don't like tomatoes and have to lift the cheese up to dig them out lol! Finally at around 8:00pm we started to make our way to the Metro Arena which was literally across the road from where we were staying. People always talk about first impressions being so important, well I think that's true and my first impression was I didn't like it. The entrance to the arena was dirty and smelly and to be honest the venue itself looked like my local dirty nightclub! I have wanted to see a show at the Metro for years and I couldn't help feeling a tad disappointed! Perhaps I was expecting to much?

As we entered the arena after climbing what felt like a 1000 stairs we had to go and check in at the V.I.P desk to collect our package which was basically a signed programme, mug and lanyard. I'm the sort of person who likes to get a feel for where I am, I either love or hate a place and I just felt really uncomfortable as I entered the arena it felt so strange but that could be something to do with being used to the size of the O2. I was so amazed with our seats though, we were third row and literally at the end right by the catwalk. That was one of the nice things about the Metro you were so close to the stage and it felt like such a intimate show, you could not have got any closer and for that reason alone I would visit again. Being the mature people Sian and myself are we thought it would be funny to create a banner, just a quick simple one to let Olly know we had travelled all the way from Essex to be at the show. Which he did actually see but me being ditzy as always, I was holding it upside down I died to think what Olly must have thought it said. It was a good idea at the time I promise, looking back makes me want to crawl up in a ball!

Now lets move onto the actual show, I hate the waiting before a show starts you literally sit there getting more and more excited. Before Olly's show started each time Taylor Swifts 'Shake It' and Pharrells 'Happy' would echo throughout the arenas thats when you knew Olly was about to come on stage. The stage then comes alive with lights and music from Olly's band which feels like the longest wait ever and then all of the sudden Olly pops up out of the stage. Each and every time I missed seeing the entrance! Olly comes out signing to 'Did you miss me?' which was so lively and energetic it really got the crowds going, especially with all the twerking. Still after all this time that song is stuck in my head. Each and every song his quirkiness and cheeky personality came across making the show that little bit more amazing.

Olly had the setlist down to a tee, although he tried to fool us all by saying he had scraped his biggest hits the little liar! He literally had such a good mixture of old and new songs. At one point a piano appears from beneath the stage and a whole new twist of his classics 'Please don't let me go', 'Thinking Of Me' and 'Busy' is sang with his four backing singers which showed just how amazing Olly's voice really is. A highlight of each and every show I went to has to be his duet with Ella Eyre. They sang 'UP' it honestly didn't matter how many times I saw it I love it more and more each time, their vocals were unbelievably amazing and the choreography was incredible, I just loved the chemistry. Before I saw the show all I kept saying was how amazing it would be for Demi Lovato (who actually sings on the track) would appear and sing it with him but by the end of the shows I whole heartily preferred Ella.

As it gets to the halfway point of the show the walkway comes down from the air to allow Olly to walk over the audience to the B stage. In true Olly style he danced and sang his heart out to 'Dance With Me Tonight' which really gets you singing and dancing. Before he calms it down to sing 'Let Me In' and 'Dear Darlin'. I've never been to a show where the artist interacts with the crowd so much literally at one point I think Olly talked more than he sang, talking about anything from his family to the Spice Girls. Which was quite amusing seeing Olly blurt out and start singing to their songs and completely got the crowd going. The show ended with Olly's no1 hit 'Wrapped Up' which was incredible and even after a 2 hour show he was still going  and by the time Olly had disappeared under the stage you just wanted to go and see him again! I have never been to such a good show!

Coming out of the Metro was awful you literally couldn't move everything was at a standstill, it was seriously badly organised! A five minute walk turned into a twenty minute push and shove! I've never been to anything quite like it. Like don't get me wrong there have been times when I have gone to the O2 and it has been unbearably busy with everyone leaving at once but there has always been some kind of organisation. It was so bad you couldn't even cross the road!

The O2 shows were out of this world, I went Monday,Tuesday and Thursday night and each time was equally as amazing. Although Monday night the atmosphere was electric. The highlight of Thursday's show was seeing Robbie Williams and Olly sing 'Troublemaker' together! I'll be honest I went pretty crazy and was so glad I managed to get last minute tickets to go and see the show! Together they were incredible everyone was going absolutely mental.

I had the time of my life seeing Olly on his tour! If you ever get the chance to see him live then go for it. You will far from regret it! Roll on the next album and tour I'm all ready and waiting .....not that my bank balance is! Has anyone else seen Olly live on tour? I would love to know! Please leave me a message in the comments below!

Clarins Bronzing Compact

Hello everybody!! As we are basically on the verge of summer now I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to review the Clarins Bronzing compact. I love topping up my tan in the summer with a bronzer to add more colour to my face and especially if I have a spray tan to even out the patches!

I've been looking for ages for a new bronzer that was strongly pigmented and long lasting yet not to orangey. I heard about Clarins Bronzing Compact from Kimberley Walsh on This Morning and was desperate to try it.

Lucky enough my Mum bought me the compact when we went out shopping! How lucky am i?! The bronzer was £27.00 and for the size of the bronzer I didn't think the price was to bad, plus I got 10% off in the Debenhams Blue cross sale. Its always best to hold off buying products until events like these as you end up saving so much money which means you can buy even more lol! The packaging is the simple Clarins red. The compact is a brown shell looking colour and is pretty big. The packaging states some big claims for example 'lightweight', 'natural looking' and 'sun kissed'.

After using the product for a while now I can honestly say it lives up to all of the above statements, I absolutely love it. It gives you a really nice natural tanned glow and is perfect for contouring. I have really pale skin, I am talking casper pale, so any strong bronzer doesn't suit me, I just look like a oompa loompa. The compact comes in four different shades in one going from barely bronzed to a deep sun kissed look. The point is the more tanned you get the darker shade of bronzer you can use and it works perfectly. I really recommend this product and it is by far one of the best bronzers I have used. If you have tried this Bronzer let me know what you think in the comments below! Thank you for reading and I hope you found it useful!

There's Something About Newcastle....

Hello how is everybody? How on earth are we in June already?! I have been crazy busy with work I love it though so I don't mind but I'm finding it a struggle to make time for my blog some days! How was everyone's Bank Holiday? I can't believe we have to wait until August until the next one! This post is yet another throwback but I really want to write about my time spent in Newcastle. Forget Throwback Thursday this is Wayback Wednesday's lol!

Last April, my friend Sian, my Mum (Angie) and I travelled to Newcastle for the weekend because A) I love Newcastle B) It was my Nana's hometown and C) I was seeing the amazing Mr Murs at the Metro Arena (That will be another Wayback Wednesday post) I love taking time off every now and again to go travelling by train up North I absolutely love it!

We travelled up on the Friday which turned out to be a disastrous day! I always buy my travel in advance from www.trainline.com, which means you have to travel on certain trains and you can't miss your connections! As it happens when we arrived at Rayleigh Station there was no where to park so we had to park literally a mile away. Our train was due at ten past eight and by now it was already five past eight! We literally grabbed our luggage and took a quick picture of the ticket machine (so I could pay for parking on the train) to our dismay we missed the train by a minute! I was literally freaking out by this point, I suffer from anxiety anyway so this really didn't help matters. If anyone knows me they will know that I HATE the Underground so I bought tickets to avoid London, so missing this train literally meant we were going to miss every single connection, not such good times!

The day got even worse when I realised that when I phoned to pay for my parking I had in fact put the wrong code in so our car wasn't covered at all! As I predicted we literally missed every single connection. When we arrived at Shenfield station it turnt out that the train to Ipswich only ran once a day, so we had to travel to Colchester then from there onto Ipswich. What a nightmare! Then to add even more dismay to our journey once we arrived at Ipswich, we were informed that the train to Peterborough ran every three hours and we had just missed it! So we were then  to advised to travel to Cambridge to catch our connections. As you can imagine by now we were all getting fed up and tired it felt like we were never going to get there! We had a long wait once we got to Cambridge and the station was so packed and to make matters worse the train coming in was only going to have three carriages! Luckily, we managed to get on the train and it wasn't as packed as I first thought it would be. Things were set to get worse though, it was quarter to twelve and our connecting train to Newcastle was due at quarter past twelve, it was going to cost us £300 each if we missed the train, so quite frankly I was crapping myself! The next thing I know a ticket inspector comes by and we find out our ticket isn't valid for that particular train, how were we suppose to know? After a grumble or two we were lucky enough not to have to pay more money! As you might of guessed we totally missed the train to Newcastle but thankfully the staff at Peterborough were so lovely and understood our situation and we managed to travel on the next train with no extra cost! So thank you Peterborough Station!

Finally, we were at Newcastle, later then anticipated. After such a disastrous day we just wanted to get a cab to the hotel. We used the black cabs outside the station, just a word of advice if you ever find yourself in Newcastle NEVER EVER USE THESE CABS! OMG they are the rudest and awful drivers I have ever met in my entire life he was vile! He drove like a lunatic, shouted at us then just threw our luggage across the road and sped off! We were staying at the Jurys Inn which is a really pleasant hotel, but not quite as nice as their sister hotel in Gateshead, the rooms were really small and hot!

The next morning we went for a buffet breakfast in the hotel which was absolutely the best ever. I could have sat there all day eating! We then took a stroll into Eldon Square to do some shopping! I love looking around Eldon Square, many many years ago the shops used to be massive old houses and it is where my nan was born. As a bonus it was a lovely hot day and the shopping centre is so pleasant to walk around. I love the mixture of high street and designer that it offers, I was even more excited to find a Michael Kors store.

After a lovely retail therapy session Sian and me decided to take a look around the Metro arena and see how far away it was. It turnt out it was literally a five minute walk! We started gate hanging for a little while but we quickly got bored and walked away! There was so many people there it felt pointless to wait around as the chances of meeting Olly were pretty slim. I'll be honest it was nothing like I expected it to be, I don't know whether that was because I had always wanted to go there and was imaging a really spectacular place, I don't know? But it was horrible it felt old and dirty and smelly but that could have been the bin I was standing next to lol! It could also be because I am so used to going to the O2 and the arenas are worlds apart, to me nothing can beat the O2 it is like the best place on earth! The massive advantage compared to the O2 is the fact you can hang around the back gates for a chance to meet the acts thats one thing that I love to do!

We went back to the hotel and relaxed for a little while before getting ready for the evening and dinner. The dinner at the Jurys is as superb as the breakfast i opted for a pizza but it was really weird because all the toppings were under a really thick layer of cheese! We then headed over to the arena and had a amazing night although trying to get out of the arena was hell! I had a wheelchair with me and cars had blocked the pavement and curbs so I was literally stuck for ages until the traffic had calmed down which wasn't fun!

I will tell you all about Olly's tour in my post next Wednesday so if you would like to find out more remember to visit again next week! You won't want to miss it! I had a fabulous weekend in the end and I can not wait to travel back up there soon. I even managed to do the underground without having a panic attack. I know to most people travelling on the Underground is nothing just a day to day thing but for me that was something major and I proved to myself I can do it! So there most defiantly will be more trips to London now! I really hope you enjoyed reading this! Speak to you all again Monday!
